Cause and Effect Sensory Sound Box is a developmental touch skills app. It was made for teenagers with complex learning needs including autism and visual impairment.

Sound Box is also a popular choice for parents of young toddlers without special needs who are beginning to explore touchscreen phones and tablets.

Each of the twenty-four scenes plays a continuous sound which changes its pitch or intensity as one or two fingers move around the screen. Colourful abstract animations appropriate for any age-group complement the sounds closely.

Several colour palettes including high contrast variations for visually impaired users are provided. Background images can be customised and a live video feed from either camera can be shown behind the animations.

The app also supports touch-free play for cause and effect switch access, single tap and sound activation switch control using the microphone.

For more information on setting up your Bluetooth Switch or Keyboard see the information at the bottom of the Developer Website page.

Almost Perfect!
I purchased this after purchasing Cause and Effect Sensory Light Box. Through touch control one can manipulate pitch, pan, and the visual. Nice mix of sounds from nature to synthesized. Im surprised that no siren is included. Id love to be able to offer my students more kid centered sounds. I believe that the population this was intended for needs more variation in visual contrast. For example, I hear rain but seeing the rain is difficult. It would be nice if the sound blip could be eliminated when each effect loads. It would also be nice if the icons of the index of effects could be bigger so one could read the names and not have to have such fine motor control. The icon used to stop one effect and return to the index is really small. Perhaps that is on purpose but again one needs to have fine motor control. This doesnt encourage any development of choice. Maybe you could offer two modes in the future. One for people who need hand over hand assistance and another mode for individuals who are working on makeing choices. I can see OT/PTs and special education teachers loving this! Thanks.
My son actually interacts with this App
Ive never been able to get his attention, he just shuts my iPhone off but he actually touches the screen with this app, this was what I was looking for! Im gearing up to get him a touch to talk app on an iPad and this gives me a great starting point! My son has sever delays but is very smart and can learn even better with the right materials, thank you for making this app!
